Tokyo Metro
In Tokyo’s fascinating metro system, between rush hours, I have attempted to understand
and capture the passenger’s state of mind.
Most of them are dosing off and I imagine them sleeping into a mysterious fantasy world.
The wavering between reality and dream was genesis of this series.
The traveler do not realize that I am photographing them through the reflections in
the train window. They therefore behave very naturally, which was critical to my project.
This approach allows me to blend the interior and exterior together, which represents
in a way the world these people evolve in, rocked by train’s motion.
